Question 2: Anyone tried to use Scrolling Battle Text and Quartz in the beta? Did they blow up?

MSBT for Wrath (I'm using this):

SCT (Don't know how well it works, as I switched to MSBT):

Last I checked, Quartz works, as long as you use a version that has externals embedded within it. Though that was over a month ago, it might work with externals being externalized now.

Threat meter I'm using atm in beta is:
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/i ... ening.html

though a recent patch has created another option:

BTW, try this:
Code:
/console showThreatMeter 1
/script function IsThreatWarningEnabled() return 1; end

and look for a movable frame the next time you engage a mob :)

Other thing to keep in mind: With the default reporting, 100% = you have enough threat to pull of the tank, and are going to be tanking soon if you aren't already. It adjusts for being in melee range/vs ranged.

It still reports the 110%/130% values so mods can take advantage of it, but none do that I'm aware of atm.

Much more definitive listing that is more readable than the listing in the Beta UI forums:

Looks like a timer addon now exists for Wrath:

more for personal reference, others can use at leisure as well:

http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/i ... Meter.html

Quote:
Allows you to see the threat bars Blizzard had originally implemented in WoW, but disabled and removed with a patch down the road.

Uses:
As dps you can use this to see your threat on the current dps target.
As a healer you can see how much your heals are adding to your threat.
As a Tank you can keep accurate watch on your agro and the next 4 players.

There is a second Threat Meter that only shows when you have a Focus Target.
As a tank this is useful so you can keep tabs on multiable mobs.

Installation is simple.
Extract into your Addons directory and load up WoW WoTLK 3.0 or WoW PTR 3.0 and start Dungeon Running and Raiding.

Version Notes
Version 1.0 - 3.0.3
+Added slash commands /threatmeter X and /tm X, X being the number of bars
+Added ability to change number of viewable bars on threat listing
+Added SavedVaribles to save settings between sessions
+Cleaned up some internal code

Any news on Grid?

How broken/what's in the works, etc?

I'm sure I could get by for a few weeks without it, but it's just such a great tool that I really don't want to.

I haven't done any work on Grid2 that's not on the SVN. I'm Sorry about that, but the time I can afford to spend on wow is spent in getting my guild to kill Illidan before the expansion kills our raid.

I do have definite plans on improving Talented, and it requires quite a bit of time. This is my priority. I don't have a clear idea on how to enhance the configuration aspect of Grid2. Working on this would require a bit of trial and errors, and that takes time.

That being said, I think that the foundation of Grid2 are robust. The core functionnality is here, and I think it's easier to hack than Grid. I also plan on using Grid2 as my only raid frames for the expansion raids, so by that time, I plan to have the Core working perfectly, some form of Grid2Alert, and also a GridRaidDebuffStatus like module.

For the time being, using a strategy similar to what fakeh has done is probably the best option. This is similar to using oUF, probably more simple.
