CWAL Ops, celebrating over three years of raiding, is a guild of mature players, average age is approximately 27 with members ranging from 19-44, the large majority of members hold regular jobs with most of the rest being college students. Most of the guild has a 4 year college degree (or they are obtaining one) with about 20% holding an advanced degree. Our raiding schedule also lets people enjoy other parts of the game. In CWAL Ops you will find devoted groups of PvPers, crafters -- just about anything. However, the core of what holds the guild together is a focus on PvE raiding.

We raid 3 nights a week, not the five or more nights of a traditional raiding guild. We take our raiding time pretty seriously and expect to maximize the value we get from that time. Guild policies are designed to enhance the success of the raid team. At the same time we strive for this to be a fun and mature place to enjoy WoW. For WTLK we are going to try out a policy of "occasional fourth raid nights" which means, no more than 3 times per year, when we need a bit of an extra "boost" on progression content we might raid four nights in a week. Partly, to make up for this we are formalizing a policy of raiding vacations where we take off a week or so from raiding (for 2009 these are Easter Week, July Fourth Week and Christmas Week).

We place a very high value on fit with our guild culture in recruiting and look for people who are excited about our vision of how to play WoW. We strive to not be a "flash in the pan" guild that does great things and burns out in a short time period and instead we plan and play for the long term. We have had excellent long term success and a consistent raid schedule.
